Exterior signage at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital was designed to have a soft and warm feel to it. Irregular forms convey the philosophy of “please touch” – which maintains that this is not a museum where children must tread lightly, but rather this is a place of healing and learning where physical touch is valued. The ground-mounted signs were designed to be reminiscent of candy and toys.
