The new signage system is a combination of clean and contemporary design with elements of
neoclassical and art deco inspired themes. The project scope included
both interior and exterior programming & design.
Exterior signage leads users to the facility from a several block radius.
neXt branded the canopy structures and entrances to generate a consistent
look and to create focal points that inform passengers.
The color choices relate to both Amtrak and Metra, the major tenants
of the building, and actually help give the old facility a cleaner and
much less cluttered look. Union Station serves 50,000 commuters per day.
